Temporary visas are a category of visas which as is clear from the name are temporary in nature and are meant for a specific purpose and allow you to stay in the country for a limited and specific period of time
If you are travelling with your spouse or children they may accompany you on a dependent visa. Depending on the country and the policies the dependent visas may be a Visitor or Work visa
Some countries in Europe like Poland do not have dependent visas and need to apply for a visa to join their spouses on their own credentials
Family reunification- Depending on the rules in you’re the destination country, the following family members may also be able to join you:
- Your unmarried partner
- Your registered partner or spouse
- Your spouse or partner when same-sex marriage is recognised. Where polygamy is not recognised, you can only be joined by one spouse
- Your parents or the parents of your spouse who are dependent and do not enjoy family support in the country of origin
- Your adult unmarried children, or those of your spouse, who are unable to look after themselves
- minor dependent children from a previous relationship of you, or your spouse/ partner, where there are clear custodial rights and in case of shared custody the other custodian has given consent for the children to join you.
Spouse Visitor Visa
Visitor Visas can be obtained for the spouse or partner of a person who is travelling on a Visitor Visa and meets other conditions for this visa.
Work Visas can be obtained for the spouse or partner of a person who has obtained a work permit or business visa and still need to meet other requirements
Work Visas can be applied for by persons who are married or in a de facto relationship with a New Zealand citizen /resident AND their partner is currently in New Zealand but have not met the retirements of 12 months as required in some countries as New Zealand
Work visas can be applied for by persons who are engaged to a person in a country such as New Zealand,Australia, Canada etc AND who intend to travel to the country to be together and to marry within 9 months.
Spouse Work Visa
These Work Visas are issued on relationship grounds-
Work Visas can be obtained for the spouse or partner of a person who is pursuing a post graduate education in countries like New Zealand and Australia and meets other conditions for this visa.
Work Visas can be obtained for the spouse or partner of a person who has obtained a work permit.
Work Visas can be applied for by persons who are married or in a de facto relationship with a New Zealand citizen /resident AND their partner is currently in New Zealand.
Work visas can be applied for by persons who are engaged to a New Zealander, AND who intend to come to New Zealand to marry within the 9 months.

These visas are usually limited to the specific purpose and have restrictions on how many months you can stay in the country at a stretch or how many times you can enter the country.
You may be able to apply for a Business Visitor Visa or Business Work Visa, if you –
Dependent Children Visa
If you are looking to visit a country for a holiday and leisure, work or for business related purposes, and will be accompanied by your children you will need to apply for a Dependent visa for them. They will be entitled to an appropriate Visitor or study visa and the type of visa granted will depend on the country, duration, type of work and work and business related policies in the country related to which country you hold a passport from
Children who are single and financially dependent on their parents and under the age of 18-21 depending on the country are still considered as dependent.
Dependent children may be eligible to domestic student visa and avail of domestic student fees up to secondary school education in certain countries like New Zealand
